The 2 Most Common Video Marketing Mistakes
Posted in Web Technology by Admin LKF - Jan 19, 2012
Creating a successful video marketing campaign is not a job for the faint of heart. It’s not easy learning to perfect the art of viewer persuasion, and conquer the learning curves associated with advanced video production software. Even after you’ve mastered the art of creating a video, there are still crucial steps that need to be taken in order to get this media in front of your targeted audience. The following are the two most common video marketing mistakes:
Digital Marketing Mistake #1 – Amateur Production
The digital video production process is by far the most important aspect of any video advert, as this will determine the overall quality of he finished product. Even if you’re the greatest marketer/SEO expert in the world, and are able to attract millions of visitors to a web page overnight, your efforts won’t amount to much if the core content is not appealing. Using cheap video production suites, hiring inexperienced freelancers, or going the do-it-yourself route are bad ideas if you’re trying to ensure a successful campaign that boosts sales conversion rates. After contracting the assistance of a qualified firm like Vidify.co.uk you can feel confident that your investment is in good hands.
Digital Marketing Mistake #2 – Improperly Targeted Promotion
Even after obtaining quality marketing material, many online businesses still fail to maximize the potential of their video adverts because they didn’t prepare a solid campaign game plan before the production process began. Contrary to popular misconception, the promotion aspect of video advertising must be approached before the production process , so it is preferable to have your Video production corporate ideas addressed by the same firm that produces the content. In other words, the content of the video has to be tailor made to accommodate the interests and needs of the targeted audience. Working with the specialists at Vidify.co.uk will help you design an effective promotion route and facilitate a professional production process for your video marketing campaign.

COMMENTSPresentation Skills
Posted in Modern Technology by Admin JHS - Jan 11, 2012
Presentations skills training has become a universal requirement because of the collaborative nature of many types of work. Communication is a very important aspect in human relations. In today’s world, the need for clarity and emphasis in communication is a key priority for many organizations. Presentation skills are a subset of the broader communications skills required for effective performance at work. This is why it is important to understand the important facets constituting effective communication skills. The following tips show some of the things one can do to improve their presentation skills.
Preparation
More than anything else, preparation is one of the most important elements that contribute to effective presentation skills training. It involves getting thoroughly acquainted with the content. This follows from a clear understanding of the purpose of the presentation. It is often necessary to carry out research in order to be familiar with the issues. Research makes it possible to uncover the contextual issues, which are very important in the validation of points raised. Prepare the necessary aids such as flip charts or PowerPoint slides as the case may be.
Practice
After settling on the appropriate content, it is important to practice on how to deliver it. This will vary depending on the audience and the objectives of the presentation. If the situation is completely unfamiliar, it may help to deliver the presentation in front of a mock audience consisting of colleagues, friends or family members. Their comments will be useful for making corrections and assessing the possible reactions from the target audience. It may also be beneficial to practice in front of a mirror. It helps with self confidence and contributes towards an individual’s presentation skills training. The need to practice beforehand reduces with experience but never totally tapers off. (more…)
COMMENTSHow Technology is Improving Burglar Alarms
Posted in Security Technology by Admin ISK - Dec 23, 2011
It is always great to see new technology come out with robot butlers and giant 3D tellies, but isn’t it even better when it is used to give us something really useful?
I am not talking about glow in the dark socks or speakers with built in plants (yes, they exist). I mean burglar alarms and CCTV systems which genuinely work to improve my home. I remember when an alarm for your home involved wires and bells and nothing which a cunning or determined thief couldn’t get around.
Thankfully that has changed nowadays, and the growing use of wireless alarm technology is one thing which is helping us protect our families and possessions more than ever before. However, the old style alarms are apparently becoming popular with people who want unusual antiques to put in their home. It seems that the wackier ones with bells, wedges and even gun powder are particularly sought after.
This got me thinking about what other pieces of old technology I have lying around which I could sell to anyone with more money than sense.
An Old Mobile Phone for a Good Workout
I was going through an old drawer in my attic the other day and found a mobile phone which weighs more than the dumbbells my wife uses. I remember that I used it very rarely, partly because I didn’t know many people with a mobile and partly because I felt like a twit when I took it out in public. However, maybe someone somewhere will take it off my hands to use in their exercise routines.
Music Cassettes for a Wall Decoration
Does anyone else still have a big collection of music cassettes which they can’t use? I had a look through mine the other day and names such as Bruce Springsteen, Simply Red and Aztec Camera made me long for simpler says when music was music and listening to it involved pressing the fast forward and rewind buttons on a regular basis. Still, new technology came along in the shape of CDs and I soon stopped buying those cute little boxes with cassettes in them. Now the only thing I can think of is putting them inside a frame and making a bit of wall art from them.
My Old TV for a Talking Point
I have been scratching my head for the last half hour trying to come up with a use for my old telly. The truth is that I can’t come up with any. You see, my Dad brought it home on day from who knows where and it was probably already a couple of decades out of date when I first saw it. Small but chunky would be a kind way to describe it, and if it ever decided to start working again then it would proudly display an image that contains only black, white and shades of grey. I used to watch the snooker on it with my Dad and I just can’t bear to throw it out, so maybe it will be used as a sort of modern art style talking point in my living room now.

COMMENTSPay As You Go Mobile Broadband
Posted in Modern Technology by Admin JHS - Oct 05, 2011
Pay as you go mobile broadband is commonly known as PAYG or prepaid. There is global interest in PAYG broadband because consumers do not have to sign a contract to get mobile phones that allow them to connect to the Internet. People prefer to avoid restrictions and expenses associated with contract phones.
Pay as you go mobile broadband offers data allowance, talk minutes, text minutes, and you can send emails while on the go. The PAYG plans offer as much data allowance as you need. If you do not use unlimited data, you can choose plans that offer you the amount of data usage you need instead.
The best part about mobile broadband is that you are in control of your spending. Rather than being confined to monthly installments you can top up your phone to add more minutes anytime you like. Monthly plans are available. Most competitors in the USA offer monthly phone plans for $35, $40, and $50. Commonly people pay $50 and get unlimited texting, talk minutes, and Internet. (more…)
COMMENTSCutting edge technology for UK’s largest temporary dental practice
Posted in Modern Technology by Admin IQY - Sep 23, 2011
Specialist mobile accommodation provider EMS Healthcare has won a major contract that will create the UK’s biggest mobile dental clinic and mean ‘business as usual’ for hundreds of patients in Somerset.
This month, seven mobile medical trailers will arrive on site in Bridgwater and be connected to form a temporary, state-of-the-art dental trailer while the ADP dental practice building nearby undergoes extensive refurbishment work.
ADP – one of the UK’s largest dental practices with more than 130 clinics across the UK – looked to EMS Healthcare to provide an innovative, patient-focussed solution that would enable practitioners to maintain high clinical standards as conveniently as possible throughout the 13-week refurbishment project.
EMS’ readymade mobile clinic vehicles provide a fast, no-fuss solution for healthcare providers needing temporary medical accommodation. At Bridgwater, two twin Liberty mobile units and one Liberty Plus triple mobile trailer will be sited opposite ADP’s practice, enabling the continuation of a normal service for its 500 patients.
Donna Turton at ADP said:
“It’s imperative that there is no disruption to service and that our patients aren’t inconvenienced while we’re upgrading our premises – and EMS Healthcare was able to offer us the perfect solution.
“We were impressed not only by the simplicity of their solution, but also the quality of the clinical environments provided in these mobile units. We are confident that we’re going to be able to maintain our extremely high standards and provide a normal, professional service during the refurbishment project.”
No major construction work is required to prepare the site. All the dental trailers will be driven to their new location and connected to create three standalone units within 48 hours.
The temporary dental trailer will have eight treatment rooms and a sterilisation room; offices, staff areas and a kitchen; disabled and staff toilets. It will be fully air-conditioned, with full disabled access, a fire and intruder alarm system, external floodlighting and CCTV facilities for added security.
Once the building project is complete, the dental vehicles will simply be disconnected and driven away. Keith Austin, Partner in EMS Healthcare said: “It really is that simple. Creating a temporary healthcare environment even of this size is not a problem using our innovative, vehicle-based solutions – they really are proving to be a time efficient and cost effective answer for anyone needing temporary clinical accommodation that provides a quality, effective environment for practitioners and a comfortable and welcoming experience for patients.

COMMENTSMobile broadband reviews

Consumers demand more from Mobile Broadband
One wouldn’t think that businesses would have to change much with their internet services to provide mobile broadband with good deals, but this is a false concept. Mobile broadband payg is a separate network in a few ways. Mobile devices are smaller; therefore, the websites set up have to work on the smaller screen. They also have to load with smaller speeds and quickly. Given the needs for a “mobile internet” concept businesses have had to come up with new innovations and better websites to account to their mobile broadband users.
Consumers are already demanding that things change when it comes to the web solutions. They want to have business solutions that will fit on their screens and make it easier to find deals when they are ready to shop. Compuware is feeling the pressure and has conducted research to find out what mobile broadband users want.
They have found that those with mobile connections want web pages they can access with the mobile internet and broadband platforms. They want these pages to load just as quickly or faster than their home connections. About half of the users said they expect the web pages to be less than 3 seconds in load time. Some said they could wait for five seconds for a page to load, but no more than that. They will give up if it is more than that and not return to the page. (more…)
